The British Close up Championships form part of the Blackpool Magicians Club Annual Convention and is held at The Winter Gardens every February.  The convention attracts around 3000 Magicians from all over the World. It’s a whole weekend of magic lectures, workshops, competitions and magic shows.

In January I was invited along with 6 other top UK performers to compete in the British Championships. We all had to present a 12 minute act of Close up Magic to an audience of around 1000 people including 3 Magical Judges.
I was nervous but I felt it had gone well, I had also watched some of the other acts and had been impressed by them, the standard of the competition was very high.
I was very pleased to be announced the winner and received a fantastic trophy, £500 and an invitation to present my act for the 4Fs Convention in New York in April 2013.
